About Timsbury Athletic Youth FC

Building Skills, Confidence, and Community Through Youth Football Since 1890

Club History

Competitive football is believed to have started in Timsbury around 1890–91, with the earliest recorded match taking place in December 1893.

That home match, played on a Thursday, saw Timsbury lose 1–0 to Warmley.

We a view to supporting and encouraging football in the community, Timsbury Athletic Youth FC was believed to have been set up in the 1960’s.

  • Treble year

We’re Timsbury the first club to win the Treble, possibly not but 1946 was truly a year to remember for us!

  • Breaking Boundries

in 1952 we were one of the first teams to incorporate women into the team, which sounds obvious these days. Although they were banned from the FA in 1921, we still made sure that there involvement was as strong as allowed!

  • Youth Team

A photo of our team in 1962 showing the smiling faces of some of our youth team in the background, although not everyone was happy to have their picture taken!

  • The Colour Blue

The first colour photo in 1975 showing the light blue which now makes up our club colours.
